I'm working on an older Windows 8.1 laptop for typing and text editing in Notepad. I encountered a peculiar issue before. Earlier, I used a Windows 7 machine that still handles it well. I usually type and then press Ctrl+S to save frequently. After saving, the cursor moves backward in the sentence, forcing me to start typing again in the middle of the previous line. I tried using a macro recorder to check if random key presses were causing the problem, but the recordings didn’t show anything unusual. I did notice some keystrokes that weren’t recorded, though they often followed control S saves without any input afterward. Anyone know why this happens?

Experienced with this in Word, though I'm not entirely sure why. At most, it's a slight annoyance.
