Extended hard drive in ISP modem setup
Hello, I'm looking into using an external hard drive for network storage. The ISP provided a modem with two USB 3.0 ports. I'm wondering if anyone believes the ISP could monitor data from the drive or if it's safe to proceed. Thank you.
Also, I need to split the drive and assign the other one for Windows updates.
They usually understand which devices are linked. Weather doesn’t matter—whether it’s a hard drive support or not, ISPs can affect features based on their policies.
It's their tools. It's tough to determine exactly what they can reach. I believe they can adjust settings and perform remote actions, but no one would openly confirm full access to shared resources. It's unlikely they'd announce such capabilities publicly.
