The simplest method is using a cable extender or a zip tie to add length without cutting the main cable. It usually has minimal impact on performance.

The best option is to purchase an Ethernet switch and connect the cable through the wall into it. It’s a bit more affordable but not significantly beneficial because switches are similar in price. Ethernet/RJ45 couplers are available on Amazon; you can get packs of 2-3 or more for about $7 plus shipping, while a gigabit switch costs around $10-12. That makes it seem less worthwhile. If you’re extremely budget-conscious and have a soldering iron, you could modify the existing cable by cutting the end and soldering the wires together. It will function as long as the pairs remain mostly untwisted (keep them under about 1 inch of loose wire). This method is less smooth but still possible. The most affordable Ethernet cables might be more difficult to work with because they often use copper-clad aluminum, which is harder to solder.

A coupler offers the most straightforward and affordable solution. For electronics stores nearby, purchase one there—non-shielded models cost around 1 Euro. It performs adequately for short distances; beyond 100 meters, consider switching to a switch. If you need additional connections, opt for a switch instead of relying solely on a coupler.
