Hello! Thank you for sharing your setup details. Here’s a concise summary of your situation:

You're using a high-end gaming PC with the following components:
- 7800X3D 2 x Trident Z Neo 5 RGB
- 6000mhz Nvidia 4080 MSI MEG
- 30CL X670e MSI Tomahawk WIFI
- Latest beta BIOS

You're experiencing memory management BSODs when EXPO is enabled. Generally, the system boots quickly and remains stable after a few minutes, though it can freeze during stress tests. You haven’t seen a BSOD when EXPO is turned off, and your memory tests showed no issues initially.

Some observations:
- Memtest86 reported no errors at EXPO speeds after four passes, but later froze during the first pass.
- You’ve tried reseating RAM and checked for physical damage, but no clear cause has been identified yet.
- The RAM is listed in the QVL, suggesting it should be compatible.

Your main concerns are:
- Is the RAM faulty?
- Could the motherboard be the issue?
- Or is it a CPU problem?

What next steps would you consider?

Consider upgrading your BIOS. Avoid Beta versions since they may have issues. Install the most recent stable release. If that fails, adjust settings directly.

Configure the EXPO settings then fine-tune the frequency to 5600 Mhz and check for stability. If successful, proceed to 5800 MHz. It appears to function well, though memory sensitivity remains an issue. I already have a GSkill kit at 6000 MHz that operates smoothly, and haven't experimented with CL30 on a Ryzen machine yet.

6000 CL30 is the ideal configuration for two sticks. How many RAM sticks would you need?

Great! 2x32 is included now. Added it to the main post as well.

The stock evaluations succeeded. This system is more demanding in terms of memory, performance, and timing compared to the initial x99 release.

We’re nearing the final hammer test of the last pass. No issues detected, which means it likely passed without any problems.

I attempted to adjust the timings myself but kept receiving random BSoD messages. A forum thread recommended enabling DRAM Power Down and Memory Context Restore in BIOS manually. After applying those changes and keeping EXPO active, the system appears stable. If this resolves the issue, it seems unusual for a Ryzen 7000 to require such steps—should I consider replacing the motherboard or is this typical? I’m still within my return/exchange period for a few days.

The fix was very consistent across your setup. Since you used the same processor, memory, motherboard, and GPU, and matched the issue you mentioned, it’s likely the problem didn’t reappear. However, the system won’t boot and you still need to reset CMOS when enabling power down.

Same here, I have 7800X3D, G Skill 6000, and an ASUS x670e motherboard. At first, with Expo 1 enabled, the PC worked well for a month, but then it stopped booting and showed blue screens. The BIOS also froze. To fix this, I had to turn off Expo quickly. I also experimented with Expo 1 plus memory context disabled and power down disabled, which worked for a few weeks before the same issues returned. Now I’ve been using the default BIOS settings with Expo disabled for almost two months, and everything is fine except the RAM is still at 4800. I don’t like that setup.
