You're facing some tricky issues with your Windows 98 setup. It seems the old HDD isn't being recognized by the IDE-to-SATA adapter, which might explain why files aren't transferring properly. The new flash drives also don't work without the correct drivers. The CD-ROMs are connected but not detected either. Since you're only dealing with small files (around 350MB), it's likely the missing drivers are the main hurdle. Try searching for specific device drivers online or contacting a tech support service for assistance.

With the LAN card it should link up with my PC. It's also a genuine IDE port, all I required was an adapter to connect to my new machine.

Uncertain about whether you have a LAN card; feel free to try finding one. Also, you need to know how to burn the discs since the system doesn’t recognize the CD-ROM drives.

Have you verified every drive jumper for master/slave configuration?

Sure, I tested every setting after connecting it to my new machine.

Sure, I’ve set it up for the Ethernet LAN. It looks like a LAN card was available. For USB drivers, you might want to check the manufacturer’s website or try other devices.

Ensure the system remains offline to avoid any risk of malware exposure. Perhaps the outdated Windows 98 version doesn’t provide modern threats with clear guidance.
