Explore RPGs featuring strong priest roles.
I've been following a D&D campaign lately and I really appreciate the priest class design. It's interesting how priests seem to invoke divine powers and fulfill tasks to grow stronger. I'm open to any games that fit this concept—free-to-play would be best, but I'm flexible if it feels worthwhile. I'm mainly interested in single-player or multiplayer experiences with friends, though I'm open to FTP MMOs. If possible, I'd avoid games with a subscription fee. Clarification: I'm considering various types of games that could work well with this mechanic—3D RPGs like Elder Scrolls and Witcher, RPG titles such as Diablo, or digital tabletop adaptations like Gloomhaven. The first thing that comes to mind is Baldur's Gate, even though it draws from AD&D 2nd edition. A quick search on the web returned these three links for review: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Du...ideo_games, https://www.lifewire.com/best-dungeons-a...mes-813094, and https://www.tribality.com/2018/07/16/top...deo-games/.
I checked out the options and found some that caught my attention, not because of the priest mechanics but because I’m curious about a D&D-inspired experience. Most seem like traditional RPGs with similar themes or settings. One game even linked me to Dragon Age, which I’ve been wanting to try. I’ll add that one to my Steam wishlist right away so I don’t miss it again.
There's divinity, which at least soudns priestly, but I couldn't tell you what it's about. There was a game..black and white, I think...that was Sim Heaven/Hell...way old..like 90s... God of War, but maybe not the kind of godly interaction you're looking for... Googling..well, turned up this thread..that's quick.. found this https://www.pcgamer.com/pillars-of-eternity-review/
