Well, I felt nervous during BioShock 1. The opening scenes were unsettling and you're being pursued by strange characters. I got used to it after the golf club segment...just a bit too late  Dishonored (set to the toughest level) – the most intense moment comes when you walk down a hallway, glance left then right, and suddenly the maid notices you. That jump scare keeps happening. Unturned was quite frightening at first, but once you get the hang of it in HL2 – avoiding Ravenholm was really tough for me. It felt like a freakshow with constant jump scares.

What is this? A cry about fear? It’s free, by the way. Edit: Grey, Afraid of Monsters, ERIE—everything’s free.

The initial two Bioshock titles are quite unsettling. Infinite adds another layer of unease.

The Freaking Deadspace universe. And Half-Life stands out as a solid classic.
