Right, so, first this isn't a bit. I know some one still using xp. I've told them for years that's not good but they still do.I helped them get their crt monitor in a better viewing position.
Then they told me someone got into their e mail. Then they said experion ? (credit tracking company?)) told them their social security number is on the dark web. So do these companies have false positives like virus trackers? I've tried and warned them many times to update but all I get is vague answers and dismissal.
Any input is welcome.

Since they are still running Win XP, it's possible their SSAN could be visible on the "dark web". Additionally, the extent of SSAN exposure over the past few years has reached most adults in the US, regardless of the operating system used.
