Search for an older display offering 1080p or 720p resolution and make it your go-to device for daily use and gaming. You’ll notice how quickly you adjust after just two days. Your vision will settle in. After a week, returning to a higher resolution feels like a transformation.

I moved from a 1200p display to a 4K one that was 12 inches bigger, but switching back didn’t make a difference. PS: I can’t even notice the details on my screens or phone anymore.

This process should continue each week. What’s your take? Just like Barney Stinson, I’m all in.

Occasionally, getting used to something turns it into disdain. I've relied on my 4K screen for a whole year. Whenever I went to a shop, people immediately pointed out its 1080p quality. It hurt my eyes. Taking a short break let me rediscover its impressive qualities once more.

The quality of the rendering changed significantly. I wasn't convinced until I played Fallout 4 with mods at 1080p and then switched to a 4K display.

Consider going with what you have. I've been using my 27" iMac with a great 1440p IPS display for a long time, and I recently switched to an ASUS VG248QE at 1080p. I really appreciate that choice too. Your suggestion doesn't quite fit my needs. If you're looking for something better, go for 5k or 8k for a more impressive experience.

Consider testing at 144hz for a week, then reverting to 60Hz.

They offer 8K displays? Isn’t DisplayPort 1.4 still available? I’m not sure why you’re confused—if it wasn’t there, I’d definitely take it.
