System ASRock B450M Pro4 board paired with Ryzen 3600 CPU, 32GB RAM, 3000mhz memory, 1TB SSD, WD Blue SN550 NVMe, PowerColor Red Dragon RX 590 GPU, Thermaltake Smart 700W power supply. Running Windows 10 version 19044.2006 with AMD Adrenaline 22.8.2. Monitor Acer Nitro XV320QU at 1440p/170Hz via DisplayPort. Recently the GPU signal vanished after reboot; Windows loads the basic driver but fails to recognize the AMD software. Device Manager shows RX 590 detected, yet errors appear. Attempted driver removal and reinstallation of the latest version, but issue persists—especially after long gaming sessions. Any indication the GPU is malfunctioning?

Kept experiencing similar problems after swapping the card, still facing signal loss but recovering on restart. No driver reinstall needed so far. The fan noise increased significantly even when not gaming, suggesting a hardware concern. Possible causes include motherboard (ASRock B450m Pro), power supply (Thermaltake Smart 700W), or software/driver issues. Any ideas?

It seems Windows is updating drivers to an outdated version that may cause issues, similar to previous problems. Try running DDU, installing the driver 22.5.1 or 22.9.1, and using the tool to prevent that particular update.

I also executed DDU and used amdcleanutility, but the issue persists. It occurs again with the Rx 580 4gb card, failing to receive a signal after reboot. I removed the card and placed it in another slot, which now boots successfully. I'm monitoring this over time to determine if it continues. Additionally, I'm checking GPU-Z and writing logs to a file to detect any unusual power spikes. Given multiple cards involved, it suggests the problem isn't with the GPU itself but possibly the motherboard, power supply, or software.

The initial problem with loading the Basic driver appears to be resolved by using DDU and/or amdcleanerutility, but the signal loss issue persists and has worsened. After loading a Rust game, the signal disappeared right away. Restarting restored the correct drivers working properly. I’m aware my PSU isn’t ideal, but it hasn’t caused any problems until now—this was the only build I’ve had since 2020.

Is there a log entry in the Event Viewer? If the GPU disconnects, it might indicate a power loss caused by increased GPU usage during heavy loads and a failing or weak power supply unit. Does this issue occur during simple office tasks or other activities?

No logs were found. It's worth noting I switched to Linux after a triple boot—Windows 10, MX Linux, OpenCore MacOS Catalina—and still managed to play CSGO without problems using OpenGL. On Windows GSGO, the video signal disappears as soon as the game starts, and this only occurred once while watching YouTube.

I re-ran the cleanup utility and DDU, then installed the AMD Adrenalin WHQL drivers (v. 22.5.1) instead of the newest ones (v. 22.9.1). This appears to be more stable so far. I’ve tested both CSGO and Rust, but haven’t loaded the video signal yet. I’m hoping this fixes the issue in the long run.

It appears the system is experiencing intermittent display issues, losing signal at random times. It might be related to the motherboard or power supply unit, rather than the graphics card, as this has occurred with multiple devices.
