I assembled my new setup using an Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero, a Ryzen 9 3900X, and a g skill Neo Z 3600 RAM kit. The issue is it keeps restarting and struggles to stabilize at 3200 MHz. I’ve tried troubleshooting extensively and this was my first time building a PC, though I’ve verified everything works below 3200. With 3600 MHz RAM, I’m unsure if the problem lies with me or the hardware itself. After updating the BIOS and drivers, any advice would be really helpful—I’m quite confused!
QVL lists can be misleading, so don't stress about that. Is this a quad stick kit or dual channel? Adjust the BIOS settings to DRAM 1.1 Dram 1.35 (or 1.4 if needed) and try booting at 3600. If it works, run memtest86 and OCCT to confirm stability. Avoid overclocking except for XFR. If stable without overclock at 3600, reapply an overclock profile and ensure it remains stable. Good luck!
