I recently acquired a new PC with a GeForce RTX 2070, Intel i7-9700k processor at 3.6 GHz, and 16 GB of RAM. However, in games like Rust and Siege, I consistently achieve only 30 frames per second, even when reducing graphics settings. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions you might have to improve performance.

Your computer may be using integrated graphics or your monitor’s refresh rate hasn't been set correctly, with Vsync holding FPS according to a 30Hz refresh rate. Verify the video port connection at the back of the case is connected to the 2070, which will be located further down the case. There are typically multiple video ports; upper ports use the CPU’s iGPU. Ensure Hz is set to an optimal range for your monitor in Nvidia Control Panel resolution. Are you using a monitor or TV? PCs usually detect monitors automatically, but sometimes not for TVs.

If none of the above steps work, update the GPU drivers and your motherboard BIOS (in that order).

I am new to PC gaming and I don’t know much about updating drivers. I believe I updated my graphics card driver through Cyberpower Drivers & Support, but I’m unsure how to update my motherboard drivers. Checking Intel Driver Update Software showed an Intel UHD 630 graphics, which I suspect is causing my low FPS.

What port did you connect the monitor to your computer? Verify that the cable is connected to the graphics card, not the motherboard.

To update GPU drivers, download from https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverRe...8584/en-us and run the installation to install the latest drivers. Updating the BIOS is a more involved process: first, determine your motherboard using a tool like CPU-Z. Then, visit the manufacturer’s website for that specific motherboard and locate the BIOS downloads in the Support section. Download the newest BIOS file to an empty USB drive. Power down the PC, insert the USB drive. Enter the BIOS (typically by pressing Del key immediately after powering on, and continuing to press Del until entering the BIOS). Within the BIOS, select the Flash or Update BIOS option; it should automatically detect the USB drive and BIOS files. Choose the new BIOS files to begin the update process. Ensure the computer remains powered on during this update; upon completion, exit the BIOS and restart the PC (remove the USB drive during restart).

It is likely connected to the graphics card.
