You can operate CAT5e up to 300 meters or 100 freedom units. At my church—which also functions as a school—there’s extensive cabling at those distances. With a strong ISP and reliable hardware, connection speeds are impressive, and signal quality remains consistent. There are no signs of degradation. Could you check if others have encountered this problem? If not, it might be an issue with your setup. Your adapter configurations may need adjustment. Rather than automatic negotiation, consider setting it to 100mbs full duplex. Try accessing the control panel, network and sharing center, modify the adapter settings, right-click the Ethernet adapter, select properties, then configure, advancing to the settings tab. Look for "Speed & Duplex," change it to 100mbs full duplex, and confirm by running a speed test. Do you know whether your connection is gigabit or 100mbs to the router? If it’s gigabit, choose 1gbs full duplex.
Other elements definitely matter too. Is the cable at least CAT5?
The term you're referring to is almost worth a try. I've faced similar situations before.
