I’m trying a copy from my local storage to the network drive again. My PC now has a Ryzen 2 2700, Asus ROG Strix X470-F, and 16GB G.Skill Trident-Z running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. It’s different from my old setup with an i7 4790, Z87-A, and Corsair Vengeance RAM. I haven’t made any changes to my Windows Server 2012, but now it keeps prompting me to grant administrator access when asked. I’ve checked my NIC on the motherboard to boost performance, but the issue persists. What’s going on?

By default, Windows doesn't verify files from network drives. It's quite bothersome. You can include your server in the trusted intranet list by using this guide. Give it a try. http://www.shayatik.com/2014/03/how-to-f...n-windows/

However, I didn't encounter any problems with my Z87-a board (build 1703), but I'm facing issues with this X470-F running Windows 10 Pro 1809. Also, even with a Gigabit network, the transfer speed feels slower compared to the Z47-a board.

I don't understand what to say except that I faced the same issue and found a solution similar to what I shared. Regarding slower speeds... are you confident about it? Gigabit Ethernet reaches its limit at about 125 MB/s. When moving data from my server to my main computer (both on Ethernet) I reach capacity quickly (transfer stays near 125 MB/s) as long as I'm copying between SSDs. (My old 5400 RPM SATA drives probably max out around 135 MB/s?) Are you using Ethernet or Wi-Fi?

I’m connected and have two WD Red 6TB HDDs on my server. I was moving data from an external drive on my main machine to an internal drive, possibly facing USB 3.0 transfer problems. NOTE: just tested via Sata Drive over a network Gigabit link, achieving typical 80/90MB speeds.

External storage is quite slow. Consider using a server HDD or an SSD on your main drive if available. It should transfer around 125 MB/s without interruptions, provided you're moving a single large file rather than many small ones.

The question highlights confusion about Windows' design despite its dual-boot capabilities.
