Experiencing issues with your motherboard and CPU.
Hello! I just sent both my CPU and motherboard back for replacement. I got an unopened AMD CPU and an open ASRock motherboard. I’m experiencing some strange problems with the new configuration. I think the motherboard might be the issue, even though it’s not brand new. I want to confirm this before starting another RMA process. Details: Ryzen 7600x, ASRock B650E Steel Legend, Gigabyte 6800 XT, G.Skill RAM (F5-6000J3238FX16GX2-TZ5NR), NZXT C750 Gold. Problems include the primary PCIe slot stuck at PCIE4 x8 under heavy load—even though I’m only using one NVMe slot and there’s no lane sharing. It worked fine at X16 on my old setup. The system doesn’t show anything when I enable EXPO, even though my RAM is listed in the motherboard support and it functioned properly before. Sometimes it boots into Windows but the display remains blank. I’ve already tried re-seating the RAM and GPU. Could you help figure out which component is causing these issues? Also, is it normal to send used parts with an RMA claim? This was my first time filing a warranty.
Hello! Are you checking your BIOS settings? Have you experimented with a different display cable? Occasionally these components malfunction without any apparent cause. If the system doesn't boot, the LEDs on the motherboard above the 24-pin connector and to the right of the RAM may indicate the issue. Which one is illuminated?
It turned out the motherboard was the issue. Spent a lot of time fixing things and then returned it for replacement again. Very frustrated with Asus—they seem to skip checking refurbished units before shipping them.
