Hey there, I’m feeling pretty stuck. I got a new LG UltraGear GX7 27-inch monitor with 240Hz OLED QHD for his laptop, paired with an Acer Nitro 5 N20C2 that has an HDMI port but no USB-C support for video. The laptop recognizes the hardware in Device Manager and shows up in display settings, though it can’t be extended or mirrored. It’s greyed out and says “no display detected.” I’ve tested with my phone using USB-C to HDMI—it works perfectly. I also tried using an older desktop monitor that worked fine, which helped me figure things out. When I connected the new LG monitor, nothing appeared. I’ve updated drivers, deleted them, reinstalled, and even disabled the laptop’s built-in graphics driver, but it still doesn’t show anything. Could there be a compatibility issue between these two setups? Any tips or clues would be super helpful!

Link the laptop to the screen, then navigate to advanced display options in Windows and check for compatibility issues. Adjust the refresh rate to a standard value, as I experienced with a default setting of 45Hz that caused problems until I changed it to 60Hz.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm reviewing that (or at least considered it, and got a bit sidetracked *lol*). It seems like only 60 or 144hz is available. I'll definitely double-check when I get back. Thanks.
