Sure thing. It might be related to issues with my network setup or hardware. Both the old and new connections from the router to my PC deliver 100 Mbps.

Probably a faulty connection. It seems the wiring isn't functioning properly.

You either connected a single cable directly or incorporated it within the walls. Certain installations shortcut this by using two runs from one cable, which reduces the total length to 100M instead of the full 1G.

Examine the connector on your motherboard, ensuring pins inside the jack remain separate. Inspect the Ethernet cable connector—do the gold pins penetrate the cable wires? Was the Ethernet cable supplied with preinstalled connectors or were they added later? If assembled by hand, verify the wire arrangement matches one of these two configurations: Your network card supports 1Gbps, the receiving device must too, and the wiring follows either of the two correct orders. In rare instances, if transmission errors occur, a network card may automatically reduce to 100Mbps. You can check this via Device Manager, go to Properties, click Advanced, and adjust settings until it maintains 1Gbps. If the issue persists, it’s likely the card itself isn’t functioning properly; you may need to reset it to 100Mbps or enable auto-adjustment so it reverts to normal operation.
