Over the past two weeks, I've encountered audio issues like popping and crackling, making many games difficult to enjoy. I've tried various fixes—clearing drives, switching USB ports, moving the PC closer, resetting BIOS/CMOS, even replacing parts like the i5-12600K and motherboard. I also bought a new i5-12600k with a different motherboard. Despite these efforts, I'm really frustrated. Here are my current specs:

I completed roughly five attempts. Eventually, I had to reformat every drive.

The issue was with my router creating interference. Relocating it resolved the problem. Moving it back caused the popping to resume. I plan to share updates within 24 hours.

Is this the answer then? You're facing identical audio and latency issues with your laptop—Asus Strix Scar III 17", i7-9750-H, RTX 2070, 970 Evo Plus—when using an external sound card like Presonus Studio 24c. You've installed six clean versions of Windows, even tried Windows 11, but nothing resolves the problem.
