I've observed consistent frame rate reductions across several titles such as Destiny 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Titanfall 2. Using MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner revealed that Titanfall 2 maintains around 60 FPS but frequently drops to the 20s for brief periods. During those moments, video captures show CPU usage surpassing GPU usage by over 20%. When FPS stabilizes again, CPU and GPU utilization also balance. I've experimented with GeForce optimization tools, adjusted graphics settings, switched platforms, and modified v-sync settings without success. I can share my dxdiag report and the test video if they might assist in identifying the issue.

If this happens when there's a lot going on in the game, then the system is hitting a CPU bottleneck condition. The i7-6700 isn't exactly a strong CPU these days.

I considered it possible but decided to confirm. Would a Ryzen 5 3600 be a more suitable choice?

Yes. You might have to acquire a different RAM package because Ryzen favors quick memory speeds. DDR4-3200 or DDR4-3600 works best.
