My machine will intermittently drop the internet link on a single device. What you describe is that certain features stop working while others stay intact. For instance, when it occurs, I can still watch the YouTube video I opened (it keeps buffering past its current point), but I can't load new web pages. Also, I suddenly lose the ability to send Discord messages or access a Discord server I haven’t opened yet, though I can still get messages from my existing server. I see my messages from my phone on that same server, but any further attempts to post from this machine fail. On Steam, I’m able to send and receive messages without problems, and I can play MMO or online games normally—except for loading new web pages. Eventually, all connection drops, including YouTube buffering stopping, Discord disconnecting, and losing game access. This problem seems to develop over time.

I’ve tried several fixes: a fresh Ethernet cable, rebooting the PC, restarting the router, changing network settings, disabling/disabling/enabling the adapter, and even switching to another router. The issue started after a Comcast network change in my area. I’ve updated BIOS, Windows, drivers, and even used a wireless utility. All other devices on the same network are unaffected. It’s been happening for months, getting worse each time.

My hardware is solid—a 4090 motherboard with an i9 13900K, Gigabyte Z790 AORUS motherboard, running Windows 11 on a 980 Pro. The problem began after one event and has persisted despite multiple attempts to resolve it. I’m not sure if the change in Comcast’s network or something else is causing it. I don’t want to reinstall Windows unless absolutely necessary, as most of my files are elsewhere. If anyone knows a workaround without a full install, I’d appreciate any advice.
