Experienced some unusual behavior after the power failed.
Hi. I was working in Adobe Photoshop while the weather was stormy. Suddenly the power cut out for a short time. My PC shut down, but when I turned it back on again, the same issue occurred. I restarted it because I needed to finish my project. I opened Photoshop and noticed some buttons are missing from the top. When I opened TradingView, I couldn't draw anything, the right panel disappeared, and I couldn't access settings. It was strange. I tried reinstalling everything through the control panel or app settings. Instead of seeing installed apps, I saw coding commands, mostly from the Logitech mouse software. Among those lines, I found "no ethernet cable connected" and something related to w3 org. I searched for malware there and found some results suggesting a virus. I ran scans with Eset and Malwarebytes, both came back clean. Any advice on what might have happened? Everything worked fine until the power went out. Thanks.
You may only need to save and close it entirely before restarting. There could be corrupted files or storage due to a sudden power failure or an OS corruption, and if it remains after shutdown, the issue might persist.
I completed the sfc /scannow scan and proceeded with the DISM commands before starting the thread. Some files appeared corrupted. I’ll run the rest and come back. Appreciate the help. /the code lines vanished after removing the Logitech app. I deleted Photoshop and TradingView, so I’m unsure if the fixes will work once I test in the command prompt.
Hope the process didn't disrupt other installed applications or games. All commands executed without issues—no errors or file corruption detected. The Sfc/scannow scan initially identified corrupted files, but now the C drive has been checked via hdd sentinel and everything appears normal. You're all set?
Your saved data should remain intact unless a file was created at that moment. Feel free to ask.
