Hi, I'm working on upgrading an Asus k751lj-ty416t RAM from the 4Go soldered module to an 8Go version using Corsair CMSO4GX3M1A1600C11. When I try to install it, only the stick appears, not the original one, and when I remove it, it disappears again. I ran MemTest86 with and without the stick, updated the BIOS, but nothing changed. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
The Corsair chip appears to cost about ten dollars less than the Hynix version, though their performance ratings match generally. The available figures are limited. Not every spec is the same—there are actually many details. The number 11 marks the beginning of these numbers. A 25% price gap suggests there might be differences in the Hynix product. One might consider testing the genuine Hynix chip, but it’s still available. Unknown if that would make a difference. Edited December 9, 2020 by Bombastinator
The only variation I noticed is that the Hynix uses DDR3L while the Corsair DRR3 does not. I've heard DDR3L can operate at 1.5V, similar to DDR3. It might just be the motherboard only supports low-power DDR3. Uncertain
