Hi everyone, I need some assistance. Yesterday my PC frequently crashes with a black screen (audio freezes, monitor turns black then goes to no signal) and then restarts. It happens while playing games or browsing the internet. There haven't been any hardware or software changes on my computer, which is strange. The BSOD suggests it might be a NVIDIA driver issue, but I've tried rolling back DDU to older versions without fixing the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Have you attempted using a full driver uninstaller (such as this one) followed by downloading and reinstalling the newest driver from nVidia's website to determine if that resolves the issue? Make sure to uninstall it in Safe Mode to ensure no files are locked down.
I used that method before, but... this time I tried reseating the GPU and ended up with some issues that made me worry the GPU was failing completely. It turned out the seating problem might have been the cause, not just my luck. I guess I bumped something or the table. I figured out why it wasn’t fitting properly—the chipset and M.2 heatsink were slightly affecting the GPU. I forced it in gently and hoped for the best. Maybe the problem is fixed now? Just wanted to check if Furmark saw any issues while playing games for 20 minutes without a black screen. If it was a serious seat issue, I’m pretty confused.
Don't push yourself too hard. Those moments can feel tough, like inserting something that's really stubborn. AGP slots used to be worse because you had to grip the clip tightly before pushing.
Unfortunately, the worst situation made fixing the crashes seem completely random. The GPU began producing artifacts and frequently crashing, while the time it worked yesterday was almost a miracle. It's clearly failing, so I replaced it with a 3080 TUF that came in the box, and since then there have been almost no issues as long as I keep updating the drivers. A shame.
Well it's mainly second-hand GPUs, that's all. I'm too poor to buy new ones, so probably around the 50 series 60 class. If it's not going to be like the 4060 and won't be priced as high as the 80 class. Thanks again!
In my situation it was a GPU model 3080 Ampere using GDDR6X, which was definitely a problem since it overheated.
