For background, my wife and I have been enjoying online games together for a long time. I realized that the moment she asked for assistance with a game section, the performance seemed very slow. It was usually when we played *Destiny 2*. I assumed it might be her PC, since my old hardware is quite outdated. However, whenever she was at work, I’d connect to her PC, tweak the video settings, and just experiment to improve the experience. Interestingly, it doesn’t feel as bad when we play together. My main goal is to make her FPS more stable, that’s all. But I suspect there might be other factors at play. Recently, it happened again—this time on my PC and it felt like a huge lag, almost like input delay. Not just in competitive matches but during regular play too. I opened Task Manager and saw my network graph spiking as if it were about to crash. This pattern appeared while playing other games at the same time, such as *Rocket League*. My network setup seems fine, but I’m not very experienced with it. It uses my cable modem connected to the Wi-Fi router, then runs through an unmanaged switch. From there, both our computers are linked via Ethernet to the switch.
