Hey. I switched platforms today using the B450 Tomahawk Max, Ryzen 7 3700X, and 2x8 Crucial Ballistix Sport LTE 3200MHz OC to 3600. I moved from my old PSU Chieftec CFT-600-14CS and GPU GTX 1060 MSI gaming x6 GB. My previous setup was a Gigabyte P67A-B3-D3 motherboard, i5 2500, 16 GB RAM, plus HyperX RAM. When I started playing games, I noticed strange noises coming from the GPU. After turning off the game and trying another one, I saw around 200-300 FPS in the menu and coil whining was much louder than at lower FPS. The game would crash occasionally. I read that capping FPS could help, which I did and the whine got quieter but wasn’t gone. This issue started after my new rig, so it’s definitely related to the hardware change. Any tips on what might be causing the coil whine?

Today my computer stopped working, displayed a blue screen. I can stress the CPU and GPU in GPU/CPU mode without any issues, nothing is happening, no errors or crashes. It passed the Heaven benchmark test. For games they freeze after just a few minutes. Temperatures are fairly stable—around 59-60°C on the GPU and about 65°C on the CPU. I really don’t know what might be causing this.

Successfully reduced core clock by 10 MHz and memory clock by 50 MHz on the GPU. Everything is functioning normally—no crashes and the coil whine has stopped. It’s a bit unusual, but the issue is resolved.
