It's actually a software problem, not a hardware issue. The only games I'm aware of that require more RAM are those with mods and Black Ops 3.

We observed the devices and both performance levels remain consistent. There are no spikes in usage.

It might be useful to reach out to Ubisoft since it seems unusual for them to function properly for you and most of your friends, while they don’t experience the same problem.

It seems there might have been a problem during his update. He could attempt a system restore and reinstall the update (though I’m not sure if that’s feasible). It looks like this issue is likely specific to your friend. You might also try reinstalling the games and any Uplay-related software, just in case the update caused corruption.
