Hello, I'm experiencing high ping and ping spikes on my iPhone X while using Wi-Fi. Since my router supports 5GHz, both my phone and the router should handle it smoothly, but I see pings ranging from 9-10ms to 50ms. My PC with an Intel ACP 9462 card consistently shows only about 1ms latency to the router on the 5GHz band. It seems this difference might be causing the issues in multiplayer games. Connecting to a 2.4GHz network doesn't help. The problem isn't distance—my phone stays close to the router. There are other Wi-Fi signals nearby, but only the 2.4GHz one works. I've tried restarting both devices and resetting network settings on my phone, plus changed channels. Anyone have suggestions?

Which router are we talking about? Have you installed the latest firmware? Otherwise, you’ll need to enter the settings once more.

It's a richerlink router controlled by my ISP. I haven't updated its firmware yet. There doesn't seem to be an update available for my device or any similar models.

Apologies for that. Your ISP handles the router, so they manage all communications and updates, including firmware changes. (Revised)

It's typical for Wi-Fi, particularly when others are using it or downloading files. Why do we avoid playing games on Wi-Fi?
