Hey there! It sounds like you're experiencing some unexpected changes in your internet speeds. There could be several factors affecting this, such as network congestion, interference from other devices, or even issues with your router settings. Since you're using a wired connection and have tested on both Steam and Origin, it's worth checking your router's configuration, ensuring it's properly connected, and verifying that no other devices are overloading the bandwidth. Let me know if you want more tips!

You're checking if the units are consistent—MB versus Mb. Remember, 1 MB equals 8 Mb. Steam shows values in MB, but Speedtest and your ISP use Mb. So 14 MB is actually 112 Mb. The 10Gbps link might relate to a switch in your local network?

Check for any data caps on Steam, Origin, and maybe Windows configuration. I searched Cogeco’s site but didn’t find a 10GBps option. It seems the person upgraded to 10Gbps instead.

I noticed significant drops in download speeds from around 80mbs to a consistent 15mbs. Additionally, I'm experiencing strong lag in my video games—CS:GO, PUBG Apex, etc.—though it's not a hardware problem. I've tested on both PCs with a 6660k GTX 1070 and a 9600k 1080 Ti.

I’ll try formatting again. I’m not sure what else to do. When in doubt, just format.

I thought it might be the modem or router struggling to deliver 1Gbps, though you mentioned all speed checks look fine. It could be the ISP—reach out and find out what’s going on. This matters because we need the correct "mbs" to assist you properly. I might have a solution, but I’m not sure without confirming if it’s MB or MB. Edited December 12, 2019 by Syaoran
