I started the game as usual, then experimented with different video configurations. Still, I kept clicking "New Game" and the loading bar filled up almost completely before an error popped up stating the game had stopped functioning.

I'm not familiar with the topic since I mainly work with NVIDIA, but YouTube is a good resource for troubleshooting individual game issues. It could also be an Ubisoft issue given their frequent problems.
