Try removing the BIOS battery if possible and let it discharge completely. Pressing the power button can speed up the process. For a laptop, it may be more difficult. You probably have already attempted this?

Check these instructions for the G3 model (may not apply). Here are additional discussions about resetting an HP BIOS: https://tickett.wordpress.com/2018/08/08...-password/ And another guide on HP BIOS recovery: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-O...-p/4522746 Typically, you'll need to reach out to HP with the serial number and UUID to receive a file that can be used on a FAT32 USB drive for unlocking. Changing the battery is unlikely to help, as BIOS passwords are usually stored on a non-volatile chip.

If you don't want to do that, the owner should contact the school he purchased it from to delete the password. If they refuse, you'll need to try other methods.

Sure, a business laptop paired with a well-managed company can present challenges, but the experience is worth considering.

Sure, I’ll rephrase that. The owner claims he received the item directly from the store, mentioning a special discount for purchasing through the school. He says no one has ever done this before in this business or system. The school insists they haven’t attempted it and can’t assist further.

I successfully accessed the BIOS and started using the USB drive. Everything is now under my control, thank you for your assistance!
