It’s not assured to work at those stock 10900k frequencies. Likely much lower, especially based on the type of ES involved.

The screenshots at AliExpress show that this is a very early engineering sample. It is a 10 core CPU but that does not make it a 10900K. The CPU-Z spec box shows 0000. If it was an actual 10900K ES it would say that in the spec box 10900K (ES). A CPU that shows 0000 is just a 10 core CPU that Intel produced so they can do some testing. The numbers in the middle of the CPU-Z screenshot show 6 5 1. The 1 is the stepping. A retail 10900K is 6 5 5, which is stepping 5. It is always best to avoid the first stepping. Each time intel fixes some major bugs, they increase the stepping by 1 digit until they get to the final retail stepping. A stepping 4 10900K would be almost exactly the same as a retail CPU. A stepping 1 is not even close. The price is not that great of a deal considering what they are selling. You would be far better off buying a retail 10850K which are selling for $439 US at Amazon. The 10850K and 10900K are almost identical. After you overclock both of them, it is luck of the draw for which one will perform best.

It was actually very useful. Appreciate the info. The 10850k remains significantly pricier than the 10900K ES in my region, so I wouldn’t have been interested in receiving an ES prototype. Just wanted to ask.
