So I have Oracle VM running in a virtual box with Ubuntu, and everything seems to be working fine. Inside the Ubuntu environment, though, I can't adjust the resolution beyond 640x480 (4:3) and can only see what's inside that limited box. I suspect this issue is related to the VM software itself, since other options don't work. Would you recommend using a different VM program? Is Oracle VM setup generally problematic? It feels like things aren't going well right now.

Do you not understand what this means? Should I handle it within the virtual machine? If yes, I can't do that. This problem prevents me from using any app with a larger window than that size. Updates are still being downloaded—should they finish before installation?

Yes, you can use it similarly to the standard ISO format when setting it up initially.

I really don’t think I can handle this. >_< It seems like this problem is stopping me from doing anything else—just stare at the center of the screen...

It seems like you're suggesting thorough reading and research before starting the VM project.

Open the guest additions in the VM menu. A popup will appear prompting you to confirm.
