Executing specific applications causes my internet connection to drop.
Initially I wasn't certain whether this should be shared in 'programs, apps, and websites' or another section. Recently I attempted to play Minecraft again so I could test the new update with friends, but after a couple days of play (during which the game performed well), my internet suddenly stopped working. As soon as the title appears, my connection drops from stable to unstable, then completely cuts off. I have to repeatedly turn off and restart my Wi-Fi to get it back online. The most puzzling aspect is that this happens even without being connected to a server—just opening the title screen causes total loss of internet. Another odd situation is that after a few days I could play fine, but by day 3 or 4 I was disconnected from any server and then stuck in the same unstable state. At first I assumed it was a Minecraft issue since similar problems don't occur with other games I've played. I shared my experience on the Minecraft forum, but it didn't help. As I dug deeper, I suspect a network adapter problem. The game would crash with random error messages, yet after applying fixes that worked for others with the same error code, mine remained unresponsive. I've power-cycled my router, reinstalled the game, tried different versions, used admin access, updated drivers, and even disabled Windows Defender, but nothing resolved it. I believe the core issue lies in a driver conflict. When I first set up my adapter, I encountered some driver problems that seemed unresolved. The model I'm using—a D-Link DWA 582 AC1200—appears to have outdated drivers, which might be the culprit. A Reddit user noted these drivers aren't current and could be problematic. I attempted to follow their instructions but faced issues with a broken download link. I switched to Realtek drivers on the official site, turned off my D-Link setup, and tried reinstalling both the chip and drivers multiple times. I also experimented with a wired connection, though my setup is so poor that moving it would be difficult. I'm open to any safe testing methods, but this situation remains very frustrating. Any guidance would be invaluable. Thank you all for your time.
