Exchange X370 to B450
Exchange X370 to B450
I own a PC built two years ago for office work, music production, and potential gaming in the future. It features a Corsair water-cooled AMD 1800X on an Asus Prime 370 Pro. It meets my needs perfectly—only one slot for the old GPU, NVMe for the system (data stored on a home server), CPU at 4000MHz, and it struggles with 3200 on DDR4 (4x8GB). I recently bought a small Corsair Crystal case but need to upgrade the motherboard to Micro ATX. Would replacing the Asus X370 with an ASRock B450M be a good idea? In the future, I plan to purchase a used Ryzen 5900 or something similar (ASUS doesn’t support it) and a better GPU. Should I worry about missing something or should I explore other options?
