I have a prebuilt HP Pavilion and wanted to replace the case, but realized my motherboard isn't ATX or ITX. I'm checking if swapping the board and case is possible or if I need to build a new system. Details: i5-11400 at 2.60GHz, GTX 1650, 2x8GB RAM, HP 8860 A motherboard.
Processor, storage, and RAM should work fine. Graphics should be typical and not an issue. Cooling fan is likely standard, but you might consider upgrading anyway—they’re not too costly. Power supply probably isn’t standard and would need replacement.
Choose a motherboard that fits your setup, then consider adding other components or alternatives if needed.
