Excessive voltage on the 13900k (ASUS Maximus Z790 Hero)
Based on the AI Suite, it shows a voltage offset of +0.10 V for profile 3 ACCC when core voltage is low or set to zero, which can trigger a BSOD under heavy loads. Turboboost is disabled at 2x cores up to 5400Mhz and 8x cores at 5300Mhz, with multicore enhancement turned off. The VF curve doesn’t show changes, and the maximum watt limit is 350. It also notes a long watt limit of 350 and asks for extra voltage at 5.4Ghz despite the curve being at 1.324V. Your SP score is around 95, which isn’t great, but you haven’t had these problems before. You can overclock to 2x cores at 5.8Ghz without issues. The cooling setup includes 3 fans, 9 radiators, an XC-7 CPU block, and a 4090 block. Let me know if you need more help!
Operating at 5400 max... voltage jumps to 1.52-1.53 during peak times (check max column). That's what's leading to the problem. It happens when idle. The cooler can't offset these spikes. I'm running all fans and the pump at full speed to improve cooling, but it's no longer effective. This hasn't occurred before and my cooling setup remains unchanged.
Have you experimented with a static vcore in the BIOS? Consider starting at 1.4v and adjusting the load line calibration slightly.
attempted it but didn’t locate a suitable setting for 1.4V and ACCC. It seems the most recent BIOS release might be responsible.
The vcore is generally about -0.1 below VID, raising doubts about the need for such high voltage at 5.4GHz. Could there be a reason behind the increased voltage request? Might it relate to a CPU issue or an overlooked BIOS setting? Enabling ASUS Multicore Enhancement caused BSODs before, so that setting is worth investigating. A CPU with an SP score of 95 should handle overclocking even with proper cooling, yet many threads suggest SP scores above 105 for P+E cores.
