Most VSync/gsync/Nvidia options are turned off. Resource consumption stays low—CPU idle, cores not maxed, overall usage around 30%, GPU ~20%, memory ~40%. Frame rate is inconsistent, jumping between 200–260 FPS (from Riva stats). CPU temps about 65, GPU ~55. Higher FPS means quicker attacks in Black Desert Online. I’m aiming for full hardware use or at least stable high frames. Usage climbs to ~90% when switching to 1440p from 1080p. Build specs: 5900x NZXT AIO, 32GB RAM, 3200MHz, MSI X570 Tomahawk, Wi-Fi 3080, Gaming RTX 850x. Need advice or guidance on improving performance.

The game from 2015 might be light on system demands, making it easier to run smoothly.

I understand your concern. Increasing graphics settings can put a lot of strain on the card, and you're aiming for smoother performance and better frame rates. While many players reach around 300 FPS with the hardware, hitting 250 consistently would be ideal. It helps avoid wasting resources while still getting decent results.

The performance feels like a CPU bottleneck, particularly because increasing resolution and quality forces the GPU to strain further. The more the GPU is taxed, the less pressure the CPU experiences. The CPU usage reported can be misleading since it's based on a 12-core processor with 24 threads. It's unlikely the game is utilizing more than four cores; it will distribute tasks among them, ensuring each gets some activity. Unless the workload actually targets over four cores simultaneously, you won't reach maximum performance. Four out of twelve cores sits near 30% utilization, which seems odd.

I don't get it, actually. I'm not into first-person shooters. I mainly play big budget games in high quality, so I'm fine with a 60. I've never had to do any kind of tuning or optimization.
