EVGA 1300 G2 80 gold plus issue occurs with flickering lights inside the home.
I've observed the issue for about a year now. My living room lights flicker whenever I turn on my desktop computer. It's running a 6800XT, 5800X Ryzen and several SSDs—no heavy load. The power comes from an EVGA 1300G2 80 plus gold supply, which a coworker got for free years ago. It’s been in the tower for nearly eight years. When I started playing Control, the flickering worsened. The FPS dropped drastically, and the lamp in the corner dimmed significantly each time it froze. After several instances, I stopped playing and shut down the computer. I moved my other gaming rig upstairs and connected it with the same power cable. It’s now running a 7900XTX, 12700K, six drives, powered by an 850W platinum supply. The game runs smoothly without any flickering. I suspect the original power supply might be faulty. Would LMG be interested in testing it with their new tester?
It performed flawlessly on my machines for over eight years. The need for a PSU tester seems unnecessary since replacing a PSU is straightforward.
