Event 2004 Memory issues - Programs failing to run
Hello,
I have the following setup:
Windows 11
5600x
3070 ti
32gb Corsair DDR4 RAM
Corsair 750w PSU
Over the past few months I’ve been unable to upgrade my GPU without running into crashes, so I’ve stuck with a 472.12 model.
I became frustrated and started investigating the problems.
I’ve stress tested the RAM and performed multiple clean installs of Windows—using DDU whenever drivers change.
Tonight and last night it crashed again. The error messages I received are:
Battle.net App
- Exception Unknown Software Exception 0xe00000008) occurred with applications

- Windows detected a low virtual memory condition. The programs that used the most virtual memory were:
ModernWarfare.exe (16100) consumed 36261212160 bytes,
NZXT CAM.exe (12748) consumed 449093632 bytes,
MsMpEng.exe (4060) consumed 221679616 bytes.
Event 26
- Application pop-up: Windows - Out of Virtual Memory
Your system is low on virtual memory. To keep Windows running smoothly, increase the size of your virtual memory paging file. For more details, see Help.
My Page file is set to automatic, and I’ve also encountered the same issue when choosing which drive it should use.
Anyone have any advice or help?
Thanks.
Thank you for your message.
I don’t rely on Nvidia filters or sharpening.
I also used DDU to install the latest driver, which cleared the cache.
I’m more worried this might be a hardware problem—especially since running one game shouldn’t cause virtual memory issues this year.
