Based on what I understand about AMD CPUs, they perform better with more memory. Would adding two more DDR4 sticks increase your performance noticeably? You’re already using 16GB, so moving to 32GB would be a big upgrade. You mentioned you mainly play games and occasionally do video editing, but your editing work is on a slow 1TB drive that’s not working. Edited January 7, 2020 by Yogi_DaBear221

They excel with quick data access, not with large storage capacity. The processor alone isn’t concerned about memory size; it simply assists in boosting performance, allowing your applications to execute more efficiently.

They prioritize quick access to memories. Only upgrade the memory size when you consistently run low on it, such as when you exceed 95% usage, like during video editing. Upgrading RAM isn't necessary unless you're certain you're experiencing shortages.

Speed and storage are separate factors. Storage size has little impact unless you're actively using it. A 3200 MHz is generally ideal, but the benefit for gaming isn't substantial. Notice the greatest improvements appear during demanding CPU operations where the Infinity Fabric leverages this extra performance.
