Evaluate if boosting the 11700KF is beneficial or if another problem exists.
Hey there, newcomer. You're starting out on the forum, so don't worry too much. Your current build looks solid: 11700KF cooler, MSI Z590, AIO with size bar, MSI 3070, Ventus with auto OC, Trident Royal Z4000 at 4000MHz, XPG Gammix S70, and a 2TB NVMe M.2 setup with two 1TB drives. You're aiming for 144fps in 1080p or 1440p, but you're consistently stuck between 110-130fps. You've already tweaked many game settings and are sure it's not an in-game problem, even at lower resolutions. The cooler handles 70-74°C without OC, but once you hit OC speeds above 4.9GHz or go to 5GHz, it starts spiking to 80°C and often reaches 85°C. You're not used to pushing thermal limits, and you're worried about damaging components. Changing to 6800XT would be risky since you've already invested in RAM, CPU (now 10600K), and Gen 4 SSD. What do you think? Is this configuration really capable of that performance?
Your system is solid for WZ 2 and handles 144 fps well. Achieving consistently high FPS would need a top-tier upgrade to both CPU and GPU. Running smoothly at 85c is fine, but temperatures might rise during other tasks. A 11700k with an 85c is safe, but if you're idle most of the time, temps aren't a big issue as long as they stay within specs and safety settings are active. DLSS could be a good choice. Some users with very old Windows setups might benefit from a fresh install if it wasn't done during the upgrade.
