Ethernet isn't functioning properly. Updated build: MSI Z790 MAG Tomahawk WIFI MAX I225-V
I recently tried the MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk WiFi MAX motherboard. It’s been really challenging, taking a lot of time to fix issues. The BIOS is current, all drivers are up to date, but the Ethernet port fails to work at startup. After booting, the LED turns green, the lights switch off, and it doesn’t recognize any connected cables. I’ve tried two fresh cables—same ones that worked with another PC—and still faced the same problems.
It seems you're using Windows 11 and encountering a known problem with Intel 2.5Gb 1225-V chips and the corresponding drivers. You mentioned trying to resolve it by switching to Device Manager, changing the view to show hidden devices, which revealed three drivers for the NIC. You also noted seeing a suggestion to force negotiation speed instead of automatic settings.
