I own a D-Link model (DHP-701AVP) and it functions adequately. TP-Link should also work fine. In reality, the main issue will be the condition of your building’s electrical wiring—especially the type and age. Aluminum wiring is particularly problematic, as are outdated or poorly installed wiring. Consider purchasing from a retailer offering returns (like a local store or Amazon) and test it out. Sure, Ethernet is preferable, but it isn’t always feasible.
