It's frustrating having to reach out for help. You're looking for a way to restore data from an ESXi 6.5 Datastore after some folders were removed. I understand wanting a quick solution, and having the original files would be ideal. If you're not sure how to proceed, let me know—I'm here to assist.
I'll check the options. I searched for comparable methods and found mostly generic advice like 'Hope you have backups.' For ESXi, pulling the drive might change things entirely.
I didnt but will investigate. Ended up doing recovery from backup. Took a while but everything is up and running now Update: Vmehrabi - I deleted a folder in the datastore, not the datastore. VMFSRecover - Seems promising but would need to try it. Also have to pay for it and thats dumb. Guess its in a professional setting though so if thats what it takes then thats what it takes. Wish I could convince management to buy things
