A VPN tunnel is possible, we used Sonicwall to link our networks from two sites. I can't share setup advice, and I wasn’t part of building the tunnel itself.

They typically handle this by using standard configurations unless they have specialized fiber connections between locations. The exact settings aren’t clear, but it should function as intended.

Companies purchase VPN services to ensure functionality, not just for creating tunnels. It’s about maintaining secure connections and access.

You wouldn't rely on third-party services such as PIA or tunnelb**r; instead, build your own VPN solution. For beginners, purchasing a VPN application might be more practical: https://amzn.com/B00GK6402W. Existing hardware could work if you understand the firewalls, routers, and gateways at both locations, as well as the VPN protocols they support.
