Your desktop is on the second floor while your living room TV is on the first. You're looking to link them wirelessly so you can play games from the living room using a mouse and keyboard, and maybe even use a less powerful PC as a middleman.

You might configure a basic PC and employ an app such as "Steam Big Picture" to play games on your primary desktop, yet show them on the television. However, simply connecting wirelessly won’t work—displaying game content from your PC on the TV isn’t possible in any meaningful way.

Don't simply lay wires; if the maximum length becomes problematic, switch to HDMI over fiber. HDMI over fiber is still the better choice since it's simpler to install and creates smaller openings in walls.
