Hi
I'm looking into ways to wirelessly connect laptops without Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Are there alternative wireless methods available for laptops? Could the existing Wi-Fi antennas be repurposed for linking to other laptops or routers, perhaps using older radio tech? I'm not focusing on a particular model, just general laptop considerations.
Thanks

There are numerous USB Wifi and Bluetooth adapters accessible.
The question explores the purpose or significance of "there is no Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card available."
It also considers alternatives like using wired connections through an ad hoc network, taking into account the number of laptops and the surrounding environment.
The main goal is to understand the intended end requirement.

IrDA founded in 1993, it came before Wi-Fi by five years and had 100 million units, such as laptops, by the year 2000.

It's just a theoretical question. I recently swapped out a Wi-Fi card and wondered if there are alternative ways to send or receive data wirelessly, or if connections could still form without a card or Wi-Fi adapter. Could the Wi-Fi antenna itself be used for data transfer without the card, or would it become ineffective?

It would be completely pointless.
All the circuitry is required to transmit the signal through the wire.
