Hey there, during Christmas I received a 7950x for 550€ plus a B650E PCIe Wi-Fi motherboard. I was surprised by how much more costly DDR5 RAM is, and I ended up getting the cheapest 2x16GB Crucial 4800MHz CL40 kit for 110€. From a few sources that only compared RAM speeds quickly, it seemed like the difference wouldn’t matter even with Zen 4. You’re using a 3440x1440 144Hz monitor and an RTX 3080, so I’m wondering if there really is no impact. Would overclocking or adjusting RAM latency make a difference? If so, anyone have similar experiences or recommendations for this important kit? Buildzoid did a video on the topic and used their numbers, but they mostly focused on frequency changes with little timing tweaks. The timing still seems to play a big role. What do you think?
