ES3460 links to a hotspot?
I've successfully linked the printer to our WiFi router and printed from my phone to it. However, the owner of the printer has no PC or router and wishes to use it via her phone's hotspot. When I attempt to connect to my phone's hotspot, I'm prompted to connect the phone to the WIF network, which I can't do because I need to disable it to enable a hotspot on the phone. Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you in advance.
Sadly, the wifi printers require all devices to be on the same network for printing. If you're trying to use a hotspot for the printer, you won't be able to print unless you have a real internet plan. You'll need to connect both devices to a Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, or similar hotspot service.
OK. Thanks. That sounds weird. I assumed the hotspot _was_Wifi. ........ Plink! But of course when the phone is a hotspot, it's not connected to itself???
Do I really need another plan? I can use our present Wifi when there is no internet, if I just want to work on the network within the home. That would be the plan where this trying to happen. Write or download documents using the phone's plan, then send them to the printer.
With two phones equipped with hotspot, it might be possible to manipulate the printer. You could connect one phone to the other's hotspot and link the printer to the same hotspot from a secondary phone. Then print from the main device that contains the required documents.
