Error with the fan connector on the Intel Servermainboard s5520hc
Hey there, I recently acquired an s5520hc build with dual x5690 Xeons at a great price. I’m planning to run some visualization experiments. The setup looks good after installing the latest BIOS and software updates. However, I’m seeing an error—specifically, the CPU0 fan check LED is flashing red. It seems there might be an issue with the CPU0 fan. I checked Windows and confirmed the fanspeed is listed correctly; no thermal warnings are present either. As a result, the fans are running at maximum speed, which can be quite bothersome in the living room. Do anyone have any tips or fixes for this situation? My configuration includes: mainboard Intel s5520hc, BIOS version R0069, two xeon x5690 cpus, 96GB RAM, six case fans, two CPU fans, Sharkoon WPM Gold Zero 750W PSU with two 8-pin EPS connectors, and a GT730S GPU.
Can you check the remote management panel? Are there any warnings or issues displayed there? The amber light seems to indicate something is off, but it’s not a clear diagnosis yet.
